BARBS / THE NUNE

THE NUNE (Barbara Glavnik), is based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She is the emerging talent of melodic house and melodic techno.

After being an organiser, a promoter and an event organizer for quite some time, she found herself in the role of a DJ and was known to her fans as the DJ Barbs The Nune. Lately, she has added music production to her set of skills.

Going through evolutional transformation, professional and personal, she has chosen THE NUNE to be her artistic name. The name reflects her character, her spirit and her soul. This old Armenian name, which means “pure and holly”, is just like how Barbara sees the music, the life itself. Barbara has faith in the higher power and energy, so the name suits her and connects well with her character. In addition, “Nune” in Armenian means a person who is capable, ambitious and resourceful. This is Barbara – The NUNE. She is also generous and likes to share what she has with others. Moreover, the name is highly attractive for big stages. And compelling in a way, surrounded with a bit of mystery, inviting music lovers to come and see for themselves whether it will be a DJ or a nun playing for them. 

All her life, Barbara has been connected with music. Even when very young, she was musically gifted, it seems like supernaturally when the guitar came into her hands. A rocker by soul and a connoisseur of electronic music, her music selection goes against the rules of the genres and dj's rulls. She does not prepare in advance. Every track has a special melodic structure, that is why her sets are very melodical and full of harmony.

Her unique way of spinning melodic house techno music makes everyone dance, sometimes you can even see people dancing with tears of happiness. Actually, she makes everybody dance, even non-lovers of electronic music. She brings magic out of music and the music surrounds her with magic: wherever she comes, she leaves a mark, with her music, her energy, and character.

Her music taste was inspired by the Solomon's Diynamic team and Innervisions. She have a lot of friends who are dj's, singers, ...Everything in her life is connected by music. She got in touch with some wonderful electronic music artists such as Ame, Boris Brejcha, Space Motion, Olderic, Andy Bros, Lehar, Brlee, Avadox, Dan Marciano… They spent some time together, so now their sound runs through her veins. When she touches the knobs on the mixer, she switches off the world around her and falls in a trance. Her way of spinning music gets you connected with the spiritual level of consciousness.

THE NUNE performed at various festivals in Slovenia and Croatia, and she made her way to Italy, Mexico and Ibiza.

Due to health problems, she put a professional music career on hold. Throughout 2020, she was fighting for her life, but she rose up like a Phoenix from the ashes. Barbara finally managed to recover. 2021 is a turning point in her career and life.


Barbara has a studio in the centre of Ljubljana, where she creates music with famous musicians from various parts of the world. Electronic music, film music, music for production.

She returned to music production, her first release “Two souls” was published by AX Records. It tells a story about two souls, on two different sides of the world. They both feel strongly about the world and the people around them, and at the same time, they feel alienated.

Her first EP is called Rising Dimensions and will be released by Overload Records on May 7th. During these troubling times, the frequency of the earth is rising, and with it, our own mind and consciousness. Throughout our lives, we are in different dimensions.
From a young age, her safe bubble was connected with music. Now she can live her dreams.
